Just when
you thought that the Internet didn't have everything...along comes
the Internet Museum of Flexi /Cardboard / Oddity Records.
What, you say? Yep, remember the cardboard records that were either
part of or inside cereal boxes, the ones that were bound into
magazines and the ones that were given away at gas stations? This
site commemorates them all...and dispels the notion that records are
only round and black. Take a look...and take a listen, too, as audio
files are included! You'll be entertained for hours! |

To quote from the site:
"In airports around the world, security personnel are now
asking many travelers to take a photo to prove their camera is not a
bomb. Canadian visual artist Isabelle Devos is collecting these
photographs for an international art project." Some of these
pictures are rather humorous and the artist is asking folks like you
for submissions at the Insecurities Project. |

Inside
the Studio -- If you've read the small print on any amount of
record jackets from the UK, you know that many of the biggest
projects were the product of talented folks at the Lansdowne
Studios in London. Our friend Derek Au shared this
wonderful site that is a "virtual tour" of the facility.
If you enjoy looking at equipment and recording facilities you won't
be disappointed with some time spent at this site. |
