Just when you thought that the Internet didn't have everything...along comes the Internet Museum of Flexi /Cardboard / Oddity Records. What, you say? Yep, remember the cardboard records that were either part of or inside cereal boxes, the ones that were bound into magazines and the ones that were given away at gas stations? This site commemorates them all...and dispels the notion that records are only round and black. Take a look...and take a listen, too, as audio files are included! You'll be entertained for hours!
       
To quote from the site: "In airports around the world, security personnel are now asking many travelers to take a photo to prove their camera is not a bomb. Canadian visual artist Isabelle Devos is collecting these photographs for an international art project." Some of these pictures are rather humorous and the artist is asking folks like you for submissions at the Insecurities Project.
       
Inside the Studio -- If you've read the small print on any amount of record jackets from the UK, you know that many of the biggest projects were the product of talented folks at the Lansdowne Studios in London.  Our friend Derek Au shared this wonderful site that is a "virtual tour" of the facility. If you enjoy looking at equipment and recording facilities you won't be disappointed with some time spent at this site.
