Past Noteworthy CDs

They may no longer appear on our Noteworthy CDs page, but they certainly aren't forgotten. Below are some of the great CDs that have deservedly been in the spotlight.

      BMG Special Products has released a group of ten wonderful CDs by the Sentimental Strings Orchestra. Each CD contains ten songs and is a slightly different theme. One example is the CD entitled Contemporary Classics, which contains the songs: A Whole New World; From a Distance; Tears in Heaven; I Will Always Love You; The Wind Beneath My Wings; Constant Craving; I Just Called To Say I Love You; You Light Up My Life; You've Got a Friend; and I Write the Songs.
      This is a full orchestra, brilliantly arranged and presented in tasteful packaging. No arranger credit is given, but the project appears to have been produced in association with Reader's Digest, as the songs are identical to those released as the "Romantic Strings" on many of the Reader's Digest sets that sold for premium prices. The best part is that these are budget-line CDs. We got 'em from CDNow for $4.97 each.
